Q:Can I use the Official Mybachi?

Yes. For this tournament, players may use the drumsticks attached to the arcade game cabinet or their Taiko no Tatsujin Official Mybachi. However, Mybachi which have been modified may not be used.

  1. ① Are the official wrist-straps attached?
  2. ② Are sticks branded with the Taiko no Tatsujin logo?
  3. ③ Is tape properly applied to the grips?
    • *Tape must not cover the logo.
    • *Tape must not be applied anywhere between the logo and the tip.
    • *Tape on the grip may be applied in multiple layers.
  4. ④ Have you confirmed there are no significant changes to the drumsticks' shape?
  5. ⑤ Are the wooden bodies of the drumsticks unaltered (no modifications made, including shaving, reshaping, varnishing, adding bumps, wrapping with cloth, etc.)?
    However, except for the area spanning 10 cm from the ends of the drumstick tips, you may write your name or apply stickers with your name on them.
    • *Solvents that negatively affect the wooden bodies of the drumsticks are prohibited.
    • *Applying stickers with the goal of altering the weight or balance of the drumsticks is prohibited.
    • *Name may be written on grip tape or wrist-straps.

Official Mybachi will not be approved for tournament play unless all of the above conditions are met.
In addition to the above, tournament organizers may prohibit the use of any drumsticks they judge to be unsafe. In that event, please use the drumsticks attached to the game cabinet.

Q:Is there an age restriction?

*There is no age restriction for the General Division.

  • ・Minors require the consent of a legal representative (parent/guardian) to participate.

Q:Can I participate in the Preliminary Contests any number of times?

Participants may submit entries to multiple Preliminary Contests. However, regardless of division, participants chosen to advance past the Preliminary Contests even once may no longer participate in the preliminaries at another arcade. (One participant cannot become the representative for multiple arcades.)
If a participant chosen to be an Preliminary Contests representative voluntarily withdraws their qualification, they may not participate in preliminaries held at other arcades at a later date. If they are found to have participated in other preliminaries in violation of this rule, they will be disqualified.

  • *If a participant is found on the day of the tournament to have participated in multiple preliminaries in violation of the rules, they will be immediately disqualified, and selection of the arcade representatives will proceed with the remaining participants.
  • *If the multiple preliminaries participation violation is discovered at a later date, it will not alter the rankings of other participants from the relevant arcades.

Q:I was selected to advance in the General Division Preliminary Contests. What should I do next?

Receive the following three items at the arcade you participated at on the same day as the tournament.

① Regional Tournaments guidelines
Read through these carefully and go to the Regional Tournament venue at the designated date/time.
② The Preliminaries Representative Sheet
Fill out the required sections and submit it to the arcade you participated at within seven days.
  • *Minors will also require the signature of their legal representative (parent/guardian) on a consent form.
③ Your Regional Tournament Participation Ticket
You need this to participate in the Regional Tournament.

Q:I was selected as Preliminary Contests representative, but I can no longer participate in the tournament. Can my friend participate in my place?

Regardless of the division, only those who have submitted an entry to the tournament may participate. If a participant is found to have played in the tournament in another person's place, they will both be disqualified. Please contact the tournament management with your intent to withdraw from the tournament.

Q:What happens if there are multiple participants with the same top score in the General Division preliminaries?

At the Preliminary Contests, the staff chooses one of the three unused songs, and the tied participants have a playoff.
If the playoff also ends in a tie, the two remaining songs will then be used for another playoff.
At Regional Tournament preliminary rounds, staff choose one of the two unused preliminary round songs, and the tied participants have a playoff.
At the Regional Tournament final round, the unused final round song will be used for a playoff, and the total score for all three songs will be used to determine the Regional Tournament winner. The total score of the three final round songs will be recorded in the Worldwide Ranking list.

Q:What should I do if I forget my Bandai Namco Passport?

Purchase a new Bandai Namco Passport at the arcade.
Register it with the same Donder Name at all stages of the tournament.

Q:Can I use multiple Bandai Namco Passports?

As a rule, participants must use the same Bandai Namco Passport throughout the tournament to allow for final confirmation of their play records. In the case of loss or card error, you may report to the tournament staff and use another card in its place, but it must be registered with the same Donder Name at all stages of the tournament.

Q:Do minors require a guardian (escort)?

Minors selected as arcade preliminaries representative require the signature of their legal representative (parent/guardian) on a consent form in order to advance. It is requested that minors bring their legal representative (parent/guardian) with them on the day of the tournament if possible.

  • *If a legal representative cannot give consent at the tournament venue due to unavoidable circumstances, minors who will play in the tournament may take the consent form home following the end of the preliminaries and return it signed to the arcade they participated at within seven days.

Q:How are costs relating to transportation and lodgings handled for tournament participants?

During all parts of the tournament, including the Preliminary Contests, Regional Tournaments , and the Donder WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2024 event itself, transportation to venues, lodgings, and any other related costs are the responsibility of the participant. However, for Donder WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2024 qualifiers from area tournaments held outside of Japan, transportation to the championship and lodgings will be paid for by Bandai Namco Amusement Inc.(applies only to the participant).

Q:Are custom parameters allowed?

In World Tournament Mode.the only custom parameters set by the player that are allowed are the music note position and voice. All others are locked to their default settings.
